Registration is taking place now at NorthStar Pool.
NorthStar swim lessons are based on American Red Cross standards that are
designed to enable children of all ages to learn swimming and water safety
skills. Lessons are held Monday- Thursday for two weeks. Fridays are class make
up days. Swim lessons are held in the mornings either at 9 a.m. or 10 a.m.
depending on sign up.

Whale Tails- (6 months to 2 years)
45-minute classes
The parent or guardian participates in the water to work
one-on-one with the child. The main focus of the course is to provide water
safety education through enjoyable water activities.

Whale Tails II- (2 years to 5 years)
45-minute class
The parent or guardian participates in the water to work

Level 1 (Seahorse)- Introduction to
Water Skills- 45-minute class
This course introduces child to elementary water skills such
as blowing bubbles and submerging the face, front and back floats, and changing
direction while paddling. (Parents or guardians are not in the water with the
child.)
Level 2 (Otter)- Fundamental Aquatic
Skills- 45-minute class
This course builds on fundamental skills and teaches
children to submerge head, tread water, jump in sallow water from side of pool,
and swim on front, back, and side.
Level 3 (Starfish)- Stroke Development-
45-minute class
Children learn front and back crawl, use rotary breathing,
tread in deep water, survival back float in deep water, jump in deep water from
side of pool, and introduce to butterfly and breast-stroke.
Level 4 (Porpoise)- Stroke Refinement-
45-minute class
Children develop confidence in the strokes learned. Children
demonstrate front and back crawl for longer distance. Children improve
butterfly and breast-stroke and turns.
